NEWS: The Human Givens Institute’s Register of Therapists is awarded PSA accreditation
/When I first discovered the human givens approach to psychotherapy in 2002, I was bowled over by how quick and effective it is.
It is a solution-focussed approach and aims to (i) effectively treat emotional or behavioural difficulties such as anxiety, depression, trauma and addictive behaviour, as well as (ii) teach people about their mental health – what we need, why things can go wrong and how we can return to a healthy state of mind: a state of wellness.
Thanks to the tremendous efforts of my colleagues, the Human Givens Institute’s (HGI) register of therapists has now been awarded the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) accreditation for Health & Social Care.
HGI met the Authority’s demanding standards in governance, setting standards, education and training, managing the register and dealing with complaints.
This mark of quality assures you that human givens practitioners belong to a register vetted and approved by an independent statutory body. I could not be more delighted!
Harry Cayton, Chief Executive of the Professional Standards Authority, said:
“We are very pleased to accredit the Human Givens Institute’s register of practitioners. Bringing HG practitioners into a broad framework of assurance is good for patients, service users and the public and is the best way to promote quality. The programme offers enhanced consumer protection to anyone looking for health and social care services and gives Human Givens psychotherapists the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to good practice.”
